Last time I wrote to update this brief, I was still trying to figure out and researching a way to create an interesting narrative.
The point that I am in right now is the beginning stages of the storyboard. Throughout the past month I have figured out what story I would like to do. And, that is something that shows the destruction that humans are able to cause to nature as well as nature’s ability of regeneration.
These were inspired by different research and readings that I was doing. One was this news piece about the seven deadly sins (which I have previously mentioned) and another one is this one video I remember watched years ago that denoted what would happen to nature if humans were to suddenly disappear. The initial destruction but also the tone of hope and how nature would eventually go back to blossoming. I find that resilience beautiful.
So, I have decided the story will be this little wooden character, that I have yet to name, I might not in fact I enjoy the fact that he is nameless, it could be anyone. This little wooden character lives in the middle of a forest, and he is obsessed with going on this quest to make this little flame he has to grow. There are seven little pieces that he needs to find to bring the flame to full potential, even though he does not need to. The seven little pieces represent the seven deadly sins from that article I read. Another recurrent presence in this story is a butterfly. Butterflies are a symbol of resurrection, change, hope and endurance. The butterfly in this story is the representation of nature. Which is why it will continue to appear throughout the story.
The beginning and ending scenes I also know I want to look the same, since I wanted to represent that cycle of nature always being able to regenerate and go back to its healthiest form eventually, regardless of what humans do to it.
This was the requested posterzine poster I have created whilst I was still trying to figure the story.

And these are a few of the sketches I did as well to try to find inspiration for the story.
